Facility Capabilities
Engine Research Building (ERB):
Combustor Facilities - CE-7B
Particulate Emission Chemical Monitoring System

CE-7B Facility Description
The Particulate Emission Chemcial Monitoring System performs real-time physical and chemical characterization of particulate emissions from operating turbine engines. Particulates are size-separated with custom-designed sorting hardware, and are then directed either into an Inductively-Coupled Plasma/Mass Spectrometer (ICP/MC) for inorangic analysis at the parts-per-million level, or into a Gas Chromatograph/Mass-Spectrometer (GC/MS) or organic analysis of absorbed pollutants.

CE-7B Special Features
The instrument is configured to sample experimental combustors in nearby test cells (CE-5B-1 & CE-5B2) or local particle sources within the cell.

Further Information
